Elizabeth is a member of the E&I program at the MIT Sloan School of Management, she is passionate about Energy and Economic Development. She holds a BS Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Western Illinois University and calls both Wyoming and Texas home. Her diverse background includes: having served in a Civil Affairs role while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as a Captain in the US Army, teaching in inner city schools, and starting a Competitive Intelligence Division for a steel roll-form manufacturing B2B supplier in the energy and transportation industries. She's spent time in China working on a project with biofuels start-up evaluating the biofuels value chain along the Yangtze River Corridor and did a project-based assessment for LS9 synthetic biofuels. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, salsa dancing, cooking, and glass blowing

Emily Shao is a freshman at MIT pursuing a double major in mechanical engineering and management. Her interests include clean energy technologies, sustainable development, and renewable resources. She plans to work in the energy industry and aspires to become involved in a global energy initiative. In her free time, Emily enjoys coxing for the MIT crew team, swimming, golfing, and cooking
John Boghassain

John is a first-year student in the Engineering School, planning on double majoring in MechEng and Economics.He has spent most of his life between Belgium and Lebanon.John enjoys applying his global perspective to social networking projects. One of them consisted in coordinating a series of workshops for middle school students, aimed at developing their understanding of Lebanon?s complex ethnic map. His primary interests lie in MIT's incredible opportunities in terms of tech-based businesses and their implementation in diversified societies. John sees the competition as a great chance to get actively involved in a worldwide effort along the lines of entrepreneurial challenge.

He holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management from Syracuse University

Phillip Stephenson

Phillip Stephenson is the Sponsorship Lead for the MIT Clean Energy Entrepreneurship Prize, the Sponsor ship Lead for the MIT Energy Conference, and the Vice President of New Energy Enterprise for the Sloan Energy and Environment Club. He is pursuing a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and concentrating on the renewable energy industry. Phillip is a first year MBA at MIT Sloan, with a background in entrepreneurship in telecommunications as well as consulting in the microfinance/ international development field. Prior to MIT, Phillip worked as a consultant with microfinance organizations to aid them in measuring their social and economic impact on clients and internally track their social performance. Previously, Phillip co-founded S3 Wireless, an Internet Service Provider using Wimax technology to deliver broadband Internet in Colombia, South America. Phillip graduated from Reed College in 2005 with a BA in economics.
